Are You Ready to Kick Some Ash?!
I hope you’ve been training hard; we are gearing up for the 2nd annual AshKickerAdventure Run, and this year’s may have some surprises in store! So get ready by holding your eyes open in the campfire, work those 16oz curls, and dive head first into your backyard kiddy pool (do not attempt, no diving warning clearly printed on the side of kiddy pool, seriously, it’s written there) Just get going, cause you better be ready for this one!
AshKicker 2011 was Insane! Who would have thought that over 600 of you would have the guts to take on The AshKicker for the 1st time. No one knew what they were in for, but you all came to compete! Some of you battled for the bad ash Sasquatch trophies, others contended against rival teams, and some just had something to prove to themselves.
Together the 2011 participants’, sponsors’, and volunteers’ tenacity and mud thirsty drive helped to push AshKicker to become a possibly record breaking fundraiser that benefited the Cowlitz County United Way! With a grand total of $190,643.12 in total event proceeds and including the Williams Pipeline matching funds!
Those of you who don’t know about AshKicker may find the following description helpful.
AshKicker is a demanding 5k adventure run EVENT,with extreme obstacles through rugged, ash laden terrain. The numerous insane obstacles will cause you to push yourself to your physical and mental limits! Compete individually or call out your friends and gather a team. AshKicker is an amazing way for your team, group, or company can gain team building skills as you help each other make your way to the finish line. Nothing will bond your team together like mud, sweat, and adrenaline!
AshKicker is definitely an event. We will be going strong all day with incredible food, as well as a beer garden that will begin at 10am. Live music will be played under the “Big Top” this year, and will begin at 11am. There will be raffles and games that continue throughout the day, as well as activities for the kids! And of course, there will be the various Costume Contests so get creative, judging from 2011, you will have to pull out all the stops to win one of these! Also, don’t forget about the live entertainment offered by the participants themselves, it’s quite a show watching them run this gauntlet of mud & mire. AshKicker offers a little something for everyone!

Their gorgeous grounds, heated pool, cedar saunas, and too many other amenities to list, will give you a place to prepare before the race, as well as a relaxing place to recover after the grueling race.
